It’s quite difficult for us to deny the role played by medical marijuana in our daily lives. Those who have previously used it for pain management can confirm that medical marijuana truly works. It’s known to help in relieving a range of illnesses such as AIDS, Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Glaucoma and many others.
Medical Marijuana for the treatment of cancer
The use of medical marijuana for purpose of treating cancer has come under criticism from a myriad of quarters in recent times. That is why one activist Alan Gordon has come forth to initiate an online petition. He has asked the minister of public safety Michael Dunkley to allow the use of medical marijuana for cancer patients on a doctor’s recommendation.
How does Gordon present his case?
In the petition Gordon states that two of his friends have been suffering from recurring cancers that conventional treatments have failed to treat. According to him, section 12 of the Drugs Act 1972 allows the minister to assume case by case exceptions for general bans on the use of Cannabis. Gordon also wants the minister to publish rules for successful applications and allow specific cases to make use of medical marijuana in case other medications do not help them.
Worldwide there are many governments which allow patients to have medical marijuana. Marijuana helps in easing the side effects brought about by toxic treatments. Besides, it can also help to cure the cancerous tissue itself.
